Memory from Izumisano
The two days trip organized by Izumisano City in assistance with Nankai Electric Railway Service, Izumisano City Educational Board, Izumisano City Tourism Association and Momoyama Gakuin University has become the greatest achievement for us.
Our trips started after we reached the Izumisano Station.A group of local people were at the station to welcome us. Moving towards the city we saw a big crowd shouting and enjoying with joy on the way where people of Izumisano were preparing for the ‘Taiko Dai Festival`. After a short look at the festival our group leader leads us to the next direction where we got the chance to see the `Spa‘(OFURO) which was built on Yedo period. According to the local people the `Spa` was closed from a long time but when we heard that it was opened for today for our service, we were overwhelmed with joy for getting such a great chance to experience the Japan’s historical `Spa`.
After this they lead us where our stay was fixed. After reaching the destination the leader from the Izumisano informed us about the program and timetable and they lead us the Yedo period’s `Spa`. It was little narrow than the present’s Spa’s but the neatness inside the `Spa` was really a praiseworthy. We felt pride with the people of Izumisano for such a good preservation of historical property.
After having a bath they provided a `Kimono` Japan’s national dress to all the participants. The local people assist us to wear the `Kimono` and they lead us to the festival. We enjoyed the festival but we didn’t see any Japanese people in Japanese dress. Only the foreigners as we were seen in the Japanese dress. After returning from the festival we had a dinner with entertainment. The local musical group made the night full of entertainment with their melodious songs where the participants also couldn’t control their bit of heart and enjoys singing and dancing.
The next day they guide us to the old city of Izumisano where we saw the old houses and an ancient gadget which has the history of more than 500years back. We visit the temples around the city named Hongawanji, Miyogonji, Saihouji and the Jyogonji temple which are the oldest among the temples in Osaka City. Roaming around the city, we saw stones at the side of the road which were used in the ancient periods to show the directions that people do not lose their way. We found this a really good idea of Japanese people. The old city beautifully managed with old buildings and ancient things gave us really good knowledge and we felt proud with the people of Izumisano for their love and devotion to the cultural and traditional things.
After that they describe us about the public building name Nigiwake Building (the building where we stayed).According to the local people the building has the history of more than 200 years and was fully equipped with the ancient gadgets. Visiting the building we saw many historical things and get the knowledge about the ancient things. Not only for the foreigners but also for the Japanese people the visit of Izumisano and the visit of Nigiwake Building will be a remarkable time for their life. If you love culture, if you love the ancient things and if you want to feel proud with tradition and traditional things do share your valuable time to Izumisano City.
We would like to thanks the organizers and the people of Izumisano City for their pleasurable hospitality and providing us such a valuable chance. We hope to get such a great chance to visit more than more historically and culturally enriched places in the near future also. We will try our best to increase the national and international tourists to this historically and culturally rich city.
